Despite only being in their mid-twenties TSJ is somewhat of a super band of accomplished musicians with members having performed internationally with the likes of Submotion Orchestra, Hollie Cook, Prince Fatty and Gentleman’s Dub Club, to name but a few. Having shaken audiences at a number of UK festivals in 2012, including Beach Break Live and London Remixed Festival, the band is now booking shows for 2013 in the UK and further a field. Drawing influences from a number of genres most obviously Ska and Reggae but also Latin, Jazz and Rock, the bands eclectic roots are self-evident. Important influences include Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Police, Tarrus Riley, Steel Pulse, The Cat Empire, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Calle Real, Bob Marley, Matumbi, The Specials, UB40, Sublime, Barrington Levy, Toots and the Maytals, Natty, Busy Signal, The Black Seeds and Katchafire. Sounding like a lost refugee from a musical war between Latin America and the Caribbean islands, They Say Jump is an outcast, an orphan given solace on the stages of our summer festivals and parties. A wandering freak show without illusion, TSJ live is a carnival of sounds daring to test your imagination, expectations and screaming “Dance or I will beat you”. Intricate in arrangement and with a tightness that bites, They Say Jump are set to release their debut album in 2013. Long live They Say Jump!
