Full Tilt are a mostly brass, 11 person originals band playing an eclectic range of genres including funk, soul, rock, reggae, ska, hip hop and drum and bass. Influenced by the likes of Hot 8 Brass Band, Funkadelic, Toots and the Maytals and Sly and the Family Stone, frontman and founder Nathan Thomas was inspired to start the band following a road trip from New Orleans to Nashville.
After spending the best part of a year assembling the finest brass musicians the UK had to offer (including Guildhall students and graduates of the Trinity College of Music) the band played their debut gig in September 2016. Since then they’ve graced the stage at venues all over London including Rich Mix, Hootananny Brixton, The Magic Garden, Paper Dress Vintage, Archspace and The Fox and Firkin, as well as festivals like Isle of Wight, Hogsozzle and Sunrise.
2017 also saw Full Tilt release two EP’s of original tunes – ‘The Remedy’ and ‘Prequel’, and live videos of the tracks ‘Keep the Candle Burning’ and ‘Imagine’. With a packed calendar of club shows and festival dates, 2018 will see Full Tilt continue to take their raucous, energetic performances across the capital and beyond.
